Omega General Help / Problem with  CCRT 700 Telephone

Hi all, This is my first post & I hope someone can help? I have recently purchased a Vauxhall Omega Elite My secound one so far. It is equipped with a CCRT 700 audio system. This system has a Telephone facility. When I insert my SIM card, I can access my phone book & other facilities but for some reason I always get the NO NETWORK message on my display & I am unable to make calls. Could you please tell me the possible reasons for this? I have driven to numerous areas but still the problem persists. The only icon lit in the bottom right of the display is the signal strength icon. Do I have to have a certain type of aerial fitted? do I have to subscribe to some sort of service? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you kindly, Darren5354.

Hi Rogerreno, Please take what I say with a pinch of salt as I am NO expert.

I have recently had a similar fault in my Omega 3ltr Elite. As I would accelerate the car would stuter and go into limp home mode i,e it would stay in third with no power at all. If I stopped turned of and restarted the engine the auto gearbox warning would reset until I pulled of again.

The error code was the same as yours & pointed to the solonoid, However this was changed & the problem stayed. eventually it was traced to a pump! Unfortunatly I don't remember the name exactly but if you face the engine it is on the right hand side, low done on the front of the engine with a belt going around it.

Again I'm sorry if thats a little vague but as I said I am no expert but it may ring some bells with your garage/mechanic.

Good luck, Darren :y

Omega General Help / Spray job advice????

Hi all, Someone recently stole the cover off my wing mirror, so I purchase one from a scrap yard in blue & re-spryed it. I did such a good job that I am thinking about doing the grey parts of my bumpers & the door trims.

My questions are:

Firstly what do you think to this idea? & does anyone know where I can get some vauxhall satin red (colour code 72L) from & lacquer at a good price?

As always I thank you in advance for your replies :y

hi irratic, I am no expert so take what I say with a pinch of salt, there should be a refrigerant condenser connected to the top right hand side of the radiator. while the engine is running at normal temp and the air con is on, this should remain very cold. if it is warm there may be a fault there that isn't allowing the water to circulate the engine/radiator.

anyway just a thought & good luck :y

Omega General Help / cooling system problem
« on: 09 June 2007, 18:10:13 »
Hi all, Just got back from a drive in my puppy (Omega). When I got out of the car there was a lot of water leaking from the expansion tank. On closer inspection (I opened the bonet) the expansion tank was bulging & the water escaping. I opened it & let the water flow. When it stoped there was very little water left in the tank so I topped it up. I then ran the engine with the expantion tank filler cap removed & got the same result the water gushed over & when in settled the was nearly no water left in the tank.

My theory was that there may be air in the system as I have recently had it flushed & renewed. So I went to my haynes manual to see if there was a bleed valve/screw. The haynes mentions nothing of a bleed valve but does state to firstly fill the system through the heater supply (upper) hose connected to the bulkhead & then to fill the expantion tank.

My questions are:

Is my theory correct???

I havent got a clue which is the right hose to disconnect & how to identify it??

Can any of you help.

Thanks in advance for your posts.
