Omega General Help / Re: Start-up Problem

You all are smart. It was the crank sensor problem which is fixed and now it is running perfectly as usual. It cost me $150 in total other than one week waiting.

I however lost my confidence in the ELM327 chip based diagnostic tool.

Thank all for prviding help

I Also had a very similar prob on my old 3.0 , If you update your post with where you are maybe someone would have one  that you could try as they are about £60 + frome vaux and it is best to use GM ones.  :y

Thanks. I am from middle east. No option other than dealer's workshop. Shall update on this.

No 0335 codes stored when you checked engine codes?

No it didn't. Maybe the tool I am using is not accurate.

Lizzie Zoom

I tried with full tank, so running out of fuel shold be out of question.

Also I checked by diconnecting the fuel pump discharge pipe. As key goes from I to II the discharge nozzle discharges fuel, but as I go from II to III there is no discharge. Priming therefore should also not be a problem. I read from previous posts that faulty crank sensor will not power the pump during cranking. This looks appealing in my case, but I am not getting any code. Can there be any other reason?

Thanks all

Omega General Help / Start-up Problem
« on: 23 September 2008, 21:42:05 »
Hi

I have first problem with my 2003 3.2. Few days back while fuel was low, engine stopped while running, though the display was showing 15 KM of range. Tried to start but no fire with normal cranking. Thought may be tank is completely drained. Added half a ltr of fuel and it started again. Reached the fuel station about 3 KM away added fuel and next whole day it was running like anything. However next morning it was silent again, no fire normal cranking by battery. Checked error code with my cheap diagnostic tool, but nothing was there except "Catalytic convertor low efficiency" which has been there since long. Suspected fault in fuel pump and and found it was pumping when switched on but no power to fuel tank when cranked and hence no fuel to engine.

Checked the fuse box, but could not find anything. Have no idea now.
Approached dealer and he is giving me an appointment a week later.

Any help please.

Thanks

Hello, And welcome to the forum, is your car an Opel Omega

Yes Jim, it is the same Opel Omega loved by everyone. Recently a Toyota fell in love with it and tried to have big hug, but could only manage to  kiss its left eye  ;D  Currently in garage for head light repair.

Hi all,

I am Tanveer from UAE, probably among very few members from this part of world if any. I run Omega 3.2 2003, purchased a few months back. Love its ride and comfort.

This forum is great and I really appreciate the way the expert people discuss and guide for the problems.

Keep it up  :y
