Just a guess but would a clogged or faulty injector cause enough of a build up of pressure in the return circuit to split the pipe?

Yep, it would. I'm unsure of what to do really, any diesel technicians can't look until next week  :-\.

If the leak off pipes are splitting that quickly it would seem that a injector has way to much return flow that is causing excess pressure on the return system.

Or there is a blockage further up the system that's causing the return pipework to pressurise.

Looking at it today it hasn't split the pipe in the same place, it runs fine under light load, any heavy load and it runs like sh1te.

I'm not sure to be honest  :-\. I've got plenty of images of the common rail system, injection system etc if that's of any help?

I suspect you may have a goosed injector, this would result in the mid pressure system being more stressed and hence the weakest part of the chain would go......e.g. a bleed off pipe.

That's what everyone is saying to be honest, hopefully it's right and not more than one  :-\

Well BMW say there's no injector problem which to be honest I think they're talking utter bullshit, it does this at startup:
