Matt,
I finally
followed through fought the tinkers tooth & nail based on the advice you gave me at the hospital regarding my entitlement to DLA, and after 6 months of arguing the toss I finally got awarded the higher rate of mobility.
I now get an extra £35 per week, which isn't a great amount but will certainly make a difference when it comes to paying the bills at the end of the month.
I also qualify for free road tax according to the bumph that came with the paperwork, again it's not a vast amount on top but that's another £220 (or thereabouts) that I don't have to worry about finding in June when the tax is due again.
Even though I was told I didn't qualify back in the beginning (when I actually did), the sneaky tinkers still managed to avoid making a back payment for what I was legally entitled to.
Still, I got there in the end and I'll just remain grateful for what I've got so far.
Cheers for that Matt, and try not to get killed before you get back for that pint
