bootlid wont shut

Got flagged down today and told boot lid was open on my x plate elite saloon. boot lid will not shut and lock, im at a loss, getting a clicking noise from boot lid when i press key maybe somthing jammed. help please.

Have a look at the catch maybe its been pushed around and thinks its closed I have had this on doors before you will need to push the catch back to the open position before it will hook on to the hoop to shut the boot

Check the striker pin thats screwed into the rear panel. These have a habit of coming lose which means the pin moves down and wont catch

Had this happen the other week on mine and also one of the Cabs
