Ok i`ve agreed in principle to a payout for my veccy... so i asked can i get my personal belongings out of it?? I.E. stereo and dog guard and a couple of other items.... Yes Mr.Lovat no problem... just give us the factory stereo.... Ok i said no probs.... So i went over to the place where my vehicle is being stored on behalf of the insurance company..... I explain who i am.. They say yes no problem Mr.Lovatt, give us 5 mins as we have to escort you to and from vehicle for H+S reasons...So i wait around and then go to the veccy with them as i opened the drivers door i immedialtly notice "No stereo.... just an open hole!!" so i ask wheres the stereo?? we both looked in and around the car and no sign of it.. So quite sheepishly now the lad escorts me back to the office, i tell the office staff the stereo is not there... they look at me as if i`m mad.... they office manager checks the photo`s of my veccy when it came in... And low and behold its there in the dash on tuesday 15th of may..But not today Thursday 17th of may.... So the office manager goes and gets the general manager who looks at the photo`s and mutters "Oh shit.." After a short discussion it ends with me getting a verbal promise of RE-EMBURSEMENT for £480 or my stereo back if found..... Now correct me if i`m wrong but that car still belongs to me until i sign it over to the insurance company..Now when i told them of what has happend all i got was "What do you expect us to do??? This is between you and the storage facilty..." Now i did not ask them to take my car there.. They took it there its there bloody storage yard... I was under the impression it was at a body shop not a flipping breakers yard or stolen recovered yard... I am so depressed tonight, first the car accident last wednesday then my iphone yesterday and now the iceing on the cake is 1 written off 06 plate veccy and stolen stereo.....

Is the car still perfectly useable ? If so,ask ins.if you can buy it back for a few hundred quid.

Right I've spoken to the storage yard general manager and he's gonna send me a cheque for £480 and a letter of apology for the mishap as he put it.... So I'm happy with that.... Just need the cheque off the insurance company and then I can look for a new car...
