What is a powersounder?

Seen some talk about you guys removing something called a powersounder, what is a powersounder and why do you remove it?

powersounder is the back up alarm should some1 attempt to disconnect the battery,it can also set fire the car as the batteries inside it leak after a period time and shorts out the circuit board,so best to rip out and if you want to replace it with a new 1

Where is it located?

Under the plastic scuttle (below the windscreen) on our driver's side.  :y
