I'm a Scot living in Ireland but before moving here 4 years ago I lived for 15 years in Bedfordshire. I was back over late last year and couldn't believe the change in the place.
 I absolutley deplore the way  minorities are  changing Britain by threat  intimidation and stealth.
The country I grew up in is gone and it breaks my heart....

your better off in kerry,ive seen a bit of the world but nowhere more beautiful than kerry

I won't be back ,where else could I see this each time I open my front door   Oh bye the way that's the highest mountain in Ireland you see.

Hmm I know CofEs, Catholics, Jews, Hindus, and Sihks, all seem fine and take the mickey out of a few.

I'm like most people still, in the UK B.D.M. CofE (only go to Births, Deaths, Marriages)

As to mickey taking, the ban on marriage in the Catholic religion and the real reason for it (financial) is fun.

Jews, I know a few and they all eat whatever they want and one has intact bits. From what I know they are one of the few minorities who go out of their way to assimilate into a country while keeping their own traditions.

Hindus, most people form the Indian sub continent I know are Hindu, they have bright coloured religious posters in their offices and are basically very colourful.

The Sihk I know well is fully assimilated and hates India - it is a dump he said, he doesn't have a turban and told me about their names Sighn (sp) is an honourific used like UK uses Mr.

But basically most people who have moved to the UK or are born to immigrants do like the country and do consider themselves British.

Why don't we all break off from this country and just leave it to the Muslims and other ethnic communities and they can do what they bl00dy well like then!!

Sorry, I'm not a racist but I'm pi$$ed off the way we bend over backwards in this country to accommodate customs and traditions that are nothing to do with our own customs and traditions.

Would we get the same treatment in their countries? Ha ha.....no way!!

When I was young we lived in Saudi Arabia and it was a right hoot.  Christmas was officially banned but if they dont see it.....

Once they were invited to this minister's house whom they had met through a friend of a friend, you know the score.  When asked what they would like to drink me dad asked for tea and my mum asked for Orange juice to which the minister replied....

"Lynn, you're a G+T girl aren't you?"  and rolled out a trolley of spirits!

Sorry but in my opinion if these people wish to live in england then they should be adapting to follow our traditions not the other way round. we did not ask them to come over here if hey do not like us eating at desks or whatever then they should go back to where they came from. next thing they will stop the hot dog vans from selling in case it offends.

Positive discrimination in the country is bloody stupid. I think I've said this before, but, about 12 years ago, I was in Virgin Megastore on Corporation St in Birmingham and I come across a section called "Black Music". Now haven't got a racist bone in my body (I have a multi-cultural family background), but I found this to be a step too far. It was the first time I had seen anything like this.

So, I went to the counter and asked for the "White music" section. After an argument with the Manager about it being racist, I was escorted out of the shop by several security guards (as I'm not a small person myself, I think they were a bit scared).

Now, this kind of attitude is commonplace. The country is so obsessed with not offending anyone that the common white-folk are being treated as second-class citizens.

Why can't everyone be trested as equals? If people don't like it here, go somewhere else? For instance, when I was at school (a long time ago now), my school had a large Irish content (in fact, there were only two in my class that wasn't Irish decent including me). I was forever getting Ireland this and Ireland that from all my friends and their parents. They would constantly go on about how great a Country Ireland is (and I do agree as I've been there - it's lovely). But my question to them was always, and still is, "If it so great there, why did you come to this 'poo-hole' of a country?".

I must admit, if I was given the opportunity to move to another country, I would seriously consider it IF IT WAS FOR A BETTER LIFESTYLE!!!!. I wouldn't go to another country and still expect to live my life according to Englands' rules and cultures.

I don't expect to be treated any different to anyone else in this country, regardless of where they came from, so why should anyone else?

I dare say that there are people out there in Omegaland that will agree or disagree with me and that's their right. That's what England what it is - freedom (supposedly)

There have been talented black musicians for ever they play all sorts of music, so should be mixed by music type!

Actually I can't think of any music type with no black musicians except glam metal and New Romantics.

These days 'black' music is 'music of black origin' (MOBO - there's even a specific awards ceremony!) but doesn't have to be performed by black people. Indeed controversial but I think Wiki have it right

Having said that, it's mostly 'Urban' music, and ladysmith most certainly don't come from the urban scene!

Anybody can perform anything, it's just laying claim to a certain style of music that can enable awards, marketing and hence sales. it's the only reason we have so many categories of music!!

These people have made the choice to be Muslim, they have made the choice to not eat for 30 days or whatever, so why the hell should we have to be put out of our way for something they have chosen to do??

On a slightly different note, would it become a national holiday for Eid? If the Muslim community have a holiday then I should expect one myself - seeing as they enjoy a Christmas break each year.

What an absolute joke, what annoys me is they are all very well entitled to their relegion etc. But it is our country and they choose to come here why should we have to change our ways  :-?
