Bloody Cheek!!
« on: 04 July 2012, 19:12:29 »

Got a letter today from a firm of solicitors who want to represent me in a personal injury claim for my recent accident. They have most of the details spot on, where the accident happened, who the other party was etc. How the hell do these people get this info? There's loads of forms for me to fill in but the best one was where I had to agree to the rate they charged of £349/hr!!!  :o :o :o

This lot will be getting a rather nice "f**k off" tablet from me 1st thing in the morning but how do I stop this happening again from all the other ambulance chasers out there.

The insurance companies (probably both yours and the other party's) sell your details.

My email address is flooded with similar, since my accident. There has been no contact with any other company. So the ONLY source, is the insurer!

Financial institutions mate. Scum of the earth.

Only, I thought there was some legislation now that they have to declare who and how much?

It.s because of company's like these that pressurising people to go ahead and make for the most part fraudulent claims as to why our insurance premiums rise each year. My nephew has had to appear in court this year to defend himself against an accident he had when in the snow he slid and hit a parked car, held his hands up and admitted to it being his fault. Done the decent thing and left contact details on the windscreen as no one was in the car, next thing he knows two Somalians are claiming for whiplash injury's. Company's like these need to be brought into line.  >:( >:( >:(
