0173. Fuel trim mf bank 2.
« on: 24 July 2012, 20:16:54 »

What is it with poxy bank 2? It's always bank 2. Always.  :'(

Plugs are 29k old. And have had miss fire codes cleared recently.

There is no light on, but two codes the same stored. And it refused to run on gas for a while. As of it had run out, switched back to petrol with beeps and flashing green lights. Did it twice, engine off, re start all fine.

Was parked uphill at the time while it was ticking over... Tank orientation?

Only seems to happen on bank 2 and on LPG.  If it happens on petrol, its normally HT (coil pack or plugs).

No idea why its always bank 2 though.

If you're referring to me I think they're a complete waste of money ::)

Just chuck some more GM ones in and change them annually ;)

Have you reset trims since Morrisons incident?

no, don't have the means currently.

Order of events was...
A couple of miss fire episodes about a month prior to the lakes.
Then no real problem, although its fealt ever so slightly hesitant on full power since Xmas tbh. Where by if lifting slightly it would pick up, as if it was flooding, too rich, or spark breaking down a fraction. Maybe?
Then at lakes we cleared the codes, and therefor trims.
Fealt ok on the way back down the m6, filled up at Morrisons.
Noticeable lag on the m5/m4.
Not too bad since...
Until today, lag, ran hot up to 95 but then it would I guess.
Parked up on tick over, gas cut out twice.
Re start, all fine.
Pedal trick gives two x 0173.

Needs a monitoring of trims I guess, with associated recalibration

Not saying yours is the same at all, but when I first LPG'd mine I always got the bank 2 trim code.

It took me ages to realise I'd trapped one of the LPG vapour pipes from injector to manifold..  :-[

yep got that t shirt. Thought I had the lengths just right as well. Put Kev to a lot of trouble, to the point we where measuring pin outs wiht a meter. Only to find a trapped pipe between one of the inlets and the head. Very very :-[

At least it wasn't just me ;D

I don't think they're the cause, but at 29k on LPG, I'd change the plugs for what they cost :y
