Fantasy and reality, which wins?
« on: 29 July 2012, 18:24:03 »

Western politicians seem to live in their own King Canute fantasy world, where everything is going swimmingly well until they slam into that big rock called reality. So, then they collectively and continually bang their head against it along with the electorates to make sure they feel the same pain.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

The politicians then run scare stories to make sure the electorate are too scared to do anything but what they are told, while then continue to bang the electorates heads against the rock of reality and give them a right royal rogering for good measure.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

In the Euro zone they tell the electorate that leaving the Euro and defaulting will be a disaster, why? The history of countries that have defaulted and introduced a new currency is one of rapid recovery, a growing economy and a sharp drop in unemployment., so why will historical fact be wrong this time? But the politicians in Spain and Greece, Portugal and Ireland portray that route as if a swivel eyed boogie man will destroy the economy, country, and people. They will all starve where the equivalent of a plague of locusts will destroy all of the crops. Economic logic for the Eurozone's increasingly divergent economies show it is not sustainable, so the Euro long term won't. Euro membership I guess must now be a new fashionable religion.  :o :o :o Meanwhile destroyed economies, businesses, jobs and lives is the result. The electorate are willingly punished while the politicians keep their noses in the trough. Why?

The next new religion which is hurting us badly economically, with the electorate being royally rogered is climate change. This week we are told we are all stuffed as Greenland is melting, NASA satellites prove it. What the climate change high priests didn't tell us (BBC etc), is that the temperature went above freezing for a few hours and then dropped below again so a couple of mm was lost, at most, from the 2 mile depth of ice. We know this occurs about once every 150 years from ice core samples, but no high priest is going to let facts get in the way of a good climate change scare story.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

This week we have had the headlines that there will be a 10% reduction in windmill subsidies, where the Government wanted 25%, but the windmill gods were not happy in such a reduction in their big profits and threatened to build these climate change icons and offerings to the climate change gods elsewhere, so the Government gave in. What was hidden in the report was the last Government's laws to appease the gods of climate change by reducing CO2 emissions by 80% will bankrupt the economy trying to achieve them, so the reality is that Government's are either going to ignore the Climate Change Act or repeal it.  ::) :o :o :o

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/9434114/The-Government-plans-to-break-its-own-climate-change-law.html

We have enough Gas in Lancashire to keep us self sufficient for the next 100 years.  :y :y :y :y Before everybody says CO2, it is estimated that if you represent the earths atmosphere with 10,000 balls, that all man made CO2 would add one-extra CO2 molecule to the 10,000. We are talking about a very small change to a trace element gas where CO2 is 0.0383 % of the atmosphere. Over 99% of the atmosphere is made up of Nitrogen (N2) 78.084% and Oxygen (O2) 20.946%.

Why, oh why, oh why, do we continually put up with all these lies, propaganda and crap, from our high priests Government and the Holy Vee EU in Brussels, which is affecting ALL of our daily lives through our pockets?

Because people are drones, not individuals prepared to protest and make a change.

Run a poll and see if anyone on the forum has ever been on a big ticket protest ( not standing outside work with a placard saying we want longer teabreaks and free kit kats)

I would certainly agree with that  cem.

The MSM (including broadcasters) have failed miserably in their duty to properly investigate without fear or favour many of the important issues now unfolding around the world.  The worrying aspect of this is that ignorance of these issues may well put at risk the lives and livelihood of a substantial number of the very people the MSM are in business to inform.

There has been a shameful surrender by much of the media to political influence, the demands of advertisers, the cynical manoeuvrings of lobbyists, and the continual lust for increased sales (or ratings improved) and to the apparent allure of, and insatiable appetite for, all things celebrity.

It is sad to note how easy it is to control vast numbers of the population by keeping them uninformed of critical events by simply feeding them puff and inconsequential information.

Of course this is made much easier for the media by the woeful lack of curiosity evident in a lot of people – people who prefer to accept what they’re given because it doesn’t take too much effort to digest it.

In terms of this country, much of the population has wandered doe-eyed into a very dangerous period of our history while not expressing any measure concern at all because they seem to be content with the garbage being passed off as news by the Street of Shame (and other outlets).

I would agree with all that, Den. Indeed, one of the main problems of modern society is laziness. We are producing generations for whom each has less to do to enjoy an increasingly hedonistic lifestyle. For example, when I left school, the only vehicle I could afford was a rusty shed which needed constant attention to get through its MoT (and to make it the pub on a daily basis). All paid for by myself, in terms of both toil and cash. These days, many youngsters have the very best of modern technology, often provided by others (parents, employers, etc.). Now, you may wonder what old Nickbat is on about, as this appears to have nothing to do with the thread, but wait. If you follow the laziness meme through, you find that successive generations have also had to study (WORK) less hard to achieve a desirable income and the possessions of choice. There were no multiple choice questions in my day. You couldn't rely on vague knowledge and get through exams on a wing and a prayer. However, each successive generation has found the benchmarks brought further down toward them until they are within easy reach ...you don't want people having to live with the stigma of failure after all.

What all this means is that we have indeed created drones. There's no need to think or analyse. It's done for you. There's no need to read weighty tomes, as someone has already produced a précis for you. There's no need to write as you can copy and paste. There's no need to gain any knowledge of computing (an excellent way of instilling logical thinking) as the screen will always ask you "What Do You Want To Do Today?

So, in summary, if you don't NEED to work, or THINK, and you can be duped into thinking that, by idly tuning into the media to get one or two soundbites you too can be the font of all knowledge, then your own laziness has truly led you down the path of subserviency.... Which is where the political classes wish you to reside.  :( :(

Seem? Polotics. The bedrock of lies so deep it threatens to envelope everything into the vast black hole of its own ring piece. Ignore it, and I'm told, it will go away. If only.

I suggest a mass show of backs. ....No, way more attention than they deserve, don't justify it with a response.
