Hej!

I had searched the forum , but i didn't find to many opinion about alternative fuel.
I have a Omega '95, 2.5V6.
The prices are below, i converted the prices from SEK/litr in to GBP/gallon, with approximation.

bensin 95= 5.26 /gallon
E85= 3.63/gallon
gas BG50= 4.80/gallon (51%Biogas+49%Naturalgas)
gas BG100 = 4.50/gallon (100%Biogas)

From what i manage to find:
1. on gas will take with about 5-10% more fuel (raported to bensin consumtion =4.95/gallon)
2. if i understood right, on E85 can take with 25% more. (raported to bensin consumtion -4.5/gallon)

Questions:
a) i need something to do on the car to run on E85?
b) What can go wrong on E85?
c) how many changes i need to run on gas?
d) what can be the better option for my living condition?

PS: i live in the north of Sweden. In January-February i had temperature of -37 for few weeks. Now i have 6-22 grade Celsius.
Most often i drive short distance 2-3 miles inside the city. Average speed 30-40km/h (18-25 miles/h)

Thank You!

using dif type fuel can damage the cat if un burnt, soot up engine, make engine run abnormal without having the ecu setting adjusted to suit fuel.

You don't need to do anything to run E85 on your car. You can use 50% E85 and 50% petrol without doing anything to your car.  :y
In fact E85 will clean your engine, so the engine will run smoother. ::)
Ethanol burns slower than petrol, so the engine will be stronger.
I have used this 50/50 % mix on my minifacelift for five years now and no problem.   :D
The only thing that will happen if you use only E85, is that the engine will not start when it is cold, but it would not damage your car.
 :)
