Well chuffed !!!
« on: 15 August 2012, 10:03:47 »

Ain't it great when you have family in the business :y

Just had new cambelt, water pump, two front tyres, new handbrake shoes for the sum of £232. Bargain (and before you say, all pucker parts I requested) :y
Just got to sort this flippin' misfire.

One question...how hard do you have to hit something with the front wheels to mess up the tracking. I can't recall hitting anything  :( I ask this because my Laguna has been abused from pillar to post, but the tracking never moves :y

You need full geometry on the Omega ;)

I find the Omega isn't as forgiving as other cars (actually, Vx in general aren't as forgiving) when it comes to knocking the geometry out :-\

No no Alan....was just a statement, mate. They were going to have it back in the workshop yesterday and have a look, but they were too busy as three Ontime trucks came in for MOT check and repairs.

If you are still available for a shifty under the bonnet, I would be grateful :y

As someone posted in another thread somewhere....well worth keeping up with the cambelt on any car. I have had two snap...one on my Courier van, and one on the Laguna. According to S-I-L, The Omega belt (four years, 36,000) was well worn. But strangely, the laguna belt which had 70,000 miles, was in pretty good nick, but still snapped !!!!!! So you never can tell
Have the bill for the previous Omega belt with my service history...Was a Vaux part !!!

I really think the existance of this site answers your question :y
Do a good navigation of this site......and like any car, check over what you are buying, and ask questions :y Insurance costs, running costs. Due to this site, repair costs can be kept to a minimum

As a footnote...I dread the day when I can no longer get an Omega to drive :(
