Private Villa gets my vote, can't stand the all inclusive hotels. You have to share everything with other people! I want a private pool, my own space when on holiday.

I went to Crete last month, near 40 most days, Winter its going to be cool, but not cold.

Highly recommend James Villa's, always very good, we went to Portugal last year. Hire cars are usual run of the mill FWD boxes, but their Villas are lovely:

Another vote for James Villas here, just finished a week here...

The Corfu (maybe all of it, I'm not sure) part of Agni Travel is run by one of the MR2 club members; plenty of ROC guys have stayed over there in his villas and loved it, might be worth a look - especially if you can track down Nathan himself..

Portugal! I spent a few days in Lisbon a few years ago, whilst working at a classic F1 event at Estoril circuit just outside of Lisbon, and there's a seaside town nearby call Cascais which was really nice!  I was going to find a hotel in Cascais, but I was working for Shell and they had already organised a 5 star in Lisbon for me!! Heyho!  ::)

The event was fantastic, they had 2 full races one with F1 cars from Stirling Moss's era and one from the James Hunt era!!  :y  I met some lovely Portugese ladies who were going to The Algarve for a few days after and invited me along!  :)  Sadly I had to drive back to London so had to decline...  :'(  Really should have gone AWOL!!!!  ;) ::)

Anyway I digress. Lisbon is a nice city to look around and the beaches arn't that far away! I don't think you'd get many Brits on the piss in Cascais!!  :y It's abit upmarket from what I remember and I've always had a hankering to go back!!  :)

I'll agree with that, was at a conference in Lisbon in '84 and went to Cascais to a really superb restaurant on the seafront. Lisbon is nice to visit  small but some nice historical places like the castle etc, the shops were good and the restaurants in the square, mind you quite a lot of beggars and hookers at night, but never a problem. :y

Portugal gets my vote. Albufuera. Been twice in the last 5 years.
Resort is aprox half hours drive from Faro airport, i hate it when you have to travel ages to get to your resort. :(

There's the "strip" area , one long er, strip  ;D , crammed with plenty of lively bars/clubs if that's what you want.

If your after something a bit quieter, albufuera old town is only 3 miles away from the strip. Bit more sedate with some really nice bars/ restaurants.  :y

Think I was sat in Paphos airport when typing that.  My only trip to Limasol this time was driving past it on the way to Lefkara, just to keep Mrs TB happy...
