Okay so finally managed to make time for the mig this morning and she started up fine? So maybe becoming more intermittent, any way I still checked all the wires from the battery and all the wires to the starter motor cleaned them all up and she started ok so I guess only time will tell but for now it's all sorted  :y

Turn the ignition on (no need to actually start engine), wait for most of the warning lights to go off, switch off the ignition, walk round to the front of the car and disconnect the battery within 15 seconds. This will prevent the alarm from being triggered.

Okay so after a few days of thinking my problem was sorted, It's come back worse than before I went to move the car to a staff car park and it started then died and a car with the spanner light was flashing is this the crank sensor? Or am I still over looking something?

My experience with the crank sensor is that when it fails, or is failing, the engine will not start. When failed, mine did turn over normally when attempting to start (sounds normal engine turn over but will not start), not like a flat battery/charging/connection issue (which I've also had in the past) as seemed to be described with your problem originally. Fault codes should confirm crank sensor failure, not sure if you had any dash warnings with your original fault or if you can check out the current fault? Guides are on OOF for reading faults. Hope you sort it.

Okay so the car hasn't done anything wrong since my last post, so perhaps I've pushed the chip in further? Or knocked it? Either way I took it down to a friend with a tech2 to see if the car had thrown up any codes and there was nothing no codes at all. So my question is this, is it possible this is just a freak coincidence and problem that was on top of the original problem? Because she starts fine now after cleaning up the connections to he starter motor and battery?
