Writing apps for mobile phones
« on: 31 August 2012, 11:23:28 »

As above

My 16 year old lad has just published his first paid application on Nokia Ovi and made himself a nice tidy 120 euro's in 2 days  :y

He has mastered app writing for symbian pretty quickly but is now looking into publishing the app on andriod and other operating systems.

Does he have to start from scratch with the code or is there any free software out there that will do the job for him ?

Any advice welcome  :)

Have to start from scratch. Tell him to get into Android / iOS / WM8 now. Symbian is dead!

If he is looking at Nokia the Windows phone 7 or 8 is best bet for app development :y

I suspect this will fall into the same category but he needs to separate his own code as much as possible from the platform API so he can support several platforms by only changing a thin layer of code.
