Omega 2.6 V6 Alarm Power Sounder
« on: 16 July 2008, 11:28:02 »

Hi there, can anyone provide some assistance. The alarm on the vehicle keeps going of at irregular intervals have checked the bonett switch and that seems to be ok and from what I am reading it would appear that it could be the Power Sounder batteries that are probably giving up the ghost. The big problem is that I am due to go away tomorrow and there is simply not enough time to get hold of a replacement. Can the Power Sounder simply be disconnected and tha car still used, not bothered in intrim about having  the alarm working simply want to stop the alarm sounding for no reason while away. Assuming this can be done is there any special proceedure or can it simply be unplugged. Any advice appreciated thanks

Yep. Power sounder can be unplugged. the alarm will still work, too. It just won't provide protection if someone disconnects the vehicle battery.

I had the same problem with mine and once the power sounder was removed it stopped. Click on this link http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90675.msg1155650#msg1155650 and it shows you how to remove it

These things only happen as soon as a trip is planned
Worse one I had was a breakdown 10 miles south of Cherbourg.
French cop appeared courteously helped swmbo into the back of his pug.
Looked back @ me winked & made an hour glass gesture with his hands.
I thought if he keeps this up I`ll be able walk back into town for a stella.
But no hours & hours stuck on the side of a french motorway...........
To cut a long story short swmbo keeps replaying the french lieutenants women.
And I hold a burning hatred of all things Ford
