It is a racing certainty for the future. As roads get busier and busier the most efficient usage is for eveyone to be driving in a "train". You only have to think about the horrendous jams on motorways caused by nothing more than someone dabbing their brakes ten miles ahead. The train speeds could be overidden by a control room.

We will all be metered per mile by then as well. Makes you wonder where old technology cars would fit in though. What happens if your car can't go fast enough to keep up with the train or develops a fault (misfire, fuel shortage, tyre blowout, alternator failure etc).?

I bet a lot more people will miss their junction as they either fall asleep or get engrossed in titter etc. ;D ;D ;D

Is it me or does every manufacturer claim the system was "not turned on" when it all goes to shit lol!

Mercedes did the same thing a while back. Crashed an infrared guided car through a patch of fog by smashing into the barrier and said the system was disengaged by accident. The whole point is to "test" those systems and by chance they just keep forgetting to check if its turned on.

yeeeaaa right :D
