which is it
« on: 02 October 2012, 20:46:40 »

Been watching the posts about thermostats recently,so im at a complete loss :-\ is mine jammed open or closed or maybe it has a mind of its own. Eg. start car drive for a few minutes heating seems normal, drive up out of watford towards M1,temp needle doesnt budge hardly out of zero, drive onto M1 12 mile to the Smoke 70 mph, temp needle between zero and 80 degrees, come off motorway start driving in normal traffic, temp starts climbing pretty dam quickly >:(,because this is an on going issue I no longer wait to reach 100 before the bloody fans cut in :o Instead Ive fitted a manual switch from the Stat feed into the car which gets switched on as and when required. I know this is a bit drastic guys :o but seems better than cooking the engine. I will gladly receive any Help guys, if I cant sort this issue once and for all then how on earth will I spend silly money redoing all the suspension :y
Cheers John

Trade, about £55 for stat and seals. Transfer pipe about a tenner more.

Try AndyC if your local dealer doesn't give trade.
