Many thanks for your reply regarding this damaged ignition switch doz. Looking at the pic of it the grey cover with the terminals showing has been ripped from the switch so i guess what im seeing is the inside of it, the black plastic cover was on the floor the black triangular bit with a spring on it may have come from inside this switch, the wireing is still intact to wats left of it. I have tried to get a replacement but have only had one reply for a used one at £25.00. my only problem now is would these switches be different in anyway depending on the year or vin number of the model. i would need to remove the wires from the old switch and im wondering if these simply pull of. as they look like they are crimped on, one last thing does the ignition key need to be in when fitting the new switch and does the ignition key need to be in a certain position when fitting at the moment it simply spins round in the ignition, i would have prefered to buy a new switch but as yet have had no luck, but thanks again for your advice il see now how it goes.
