End of my Miggy today
« on: 01 December 2012, 02:28:06 »

Yes she's now gone :(
I went with her to the to the crusher for me not a pretty site :'(
Took about 6 drops & turnovers to reduce her to about a couple of foot thick :o
Almost like tossing a pancake
Engine & transmission I've kept
Apparantly theres more precision involved than I imagined
As in the process the crane driver has to extract the petrol tank
This he did with ease on about the 2nd turnover
Saw it go flying about 40ft away
I'll not forget her in a hurry
I walked away without so much as a bruise
I consider I owe her quite a lot
The impact knocked her front end several ft sideways
Deployed my airbag and crushed the front chassis leg up against the engine
So now I'll be getting Migsy up to scratch
Hopefully for Spring/Summer
Seems theres quite a lot needs doing
So no doubt I'll be asking for help & info/advice in the general help sections :y :y
Regards Cliffo B

You are almost a poet
but didn't knowit!

Sad day. :( :(

When my faithful red one went to the scrapper, The deal was I could go back and get the wheels off. When I went I was mortified. The bodywork had great big scrapes down the side and another car had been sat on top of it. Couldn't get my trolley jack under one side  so the owner helped me out with a fork lift . I nearly threw up. :o :o

Why did he crush it  :-\
I was a little surprised as everything worked, but it had done over 200,000 miles and needed sills welding for the MOT. At that time the scrap price was rising so it was a quick and easy way of turning a P/X into cash.

If I had known he was going to scrap it I might have been tempted to strip it myself & keep the nearly new radiator & genuine exhaust as spares ::)
