warning light on

Whilst travelling down motorway at 80mph yesterday yellow warning light (engine block) came on,did not affect power or performance and i was able to complete journey home ok as normal,when checking handbook it said emissions fault !! has anyone else had same as this and if so what was the cause,car is 2001 2.2 petrol cd auto many thanks for any help.

Try reading the Actual Faults Codes with a Pedal Trick, may not work with your 2.2 but worth a try.

As said try and get codes read but this problem is very common - I just use a cheap Maxscan code reader to reset when it happens. I have had this on and off for several years now and can be attributable to change of fuel. Issues with V6 3.2 maybe different to 2.2.

thanks guys had codes read lean mixture/o2 poor sensor activity cleaned them up all reset ok and working fine all lights/codes reset ok.
