External temperature sensor
« on: 13 January 2013, 16:55:41 »

Hi everyone.

Just fitted my replacement front bumper today but can't find the external temp sensor which also needs replacing. Does anyone know where it is located?

It wasn't attached to the old bumper and we couldn't see it anywhere around the front of the car with the bumper removed.

We found one wire which wasn't connected to anything but we thought that might be for the front fog lights as it had 4 connections and the front fog light connectors are missing.

Any ideas?

Many thanks. :-* :-* :-* :y

Have you looked around the area carefully, it is only the size of a finger end, and may have become detached as you took the bumper off?

The loom is part of the fog light loom, it plugs in on the passenger side and runs across the bumper, the temp sensor is located in the centre of the bumper

Thanks for all the help. :y

I've just had a look at the old bumper and I'm guessing that the sensor is missing and it looks like the wiring is missing too.

All I found was a wire with 4 bare terminals dangling.

I've no idea what to do next as I've got to fit a new temp sensor and there's no wiring for it.

There is no wiring for the fog lights either. ???

As EP has hinted probably simplest to replace the loom from the plug above the horns :y

It only goes to the fog lights and the temp sensor iirc  ::) and will (hopefully) remove any unidentified wiring/plugs :y

Found the sensor and the loom, which is good news. Bad news is the loom has been chopped through, could possibly be repaired, but might be less messing around if someone else has one lying around they could donate ?
