At the end of the last unpleasantness betweens us and the Reich a lot of gold was never recovered,perhaps the boche think that after stealing it 70 years ago the time might be right to start spending,/taking it back.

It could be a fast default through Congress not raising the debt ceiling or more likely a slow default where they ramp up inflation.
