Had recent MOT and advised that the OSR shock was starting to leak, also starting to creak when under load, can anyone advise what replacement is required, I do not know if they are gas or what so advice would be greatly appreciated. Car is 2.6 V6 CDX 52 plate. Also where can new ones be sourced, etc and if they can be DIY fitted. Many thanks.

Saloon or estate

Standard ones are cheap enough from Vx, self levelling ones are alot more and Vx only.

Easy to Diy if your happy with the spanners Only two bolts each side for the saloons estates are a bit more involved, but straightforward enough

As CDX assuming no self levelling, so around £75 for pair of standard shocks from GM on trade. Try AndyC for these if you don't have access to trade club.

Dead easy on Saloon & Estate, just 2 bolts. Estate ones can be a pig to separate on bottom though!

Again assuming non self levelling ,If anyone can confirm that  2.5 saloon shocks are the same as the 2.6

ones  . . .  I have a brand new pair of KYB ones that I got for my old S reg 2.5 elite

when I was going to convert from air shocks to standard.

Got the air shocks working ( faulty switch) so never fitted them .

You are welcome to come & collect & try them first  as I am also in Essex .

Make a note or take pics of the location/order of the various washers (rubber and metal) as they come off,as its easy to get it wrong when putting them back.
