A lot of people simply can't afford what the butcher charges. Plus, most of the butchers round these parts are in town. Local ones driven out of business long ago.

If people looked hard enough they'd probably find an affordable one ;)

We're lucky... We have 2/3 reasonably close who aren't dramatically more than half decent supermarket meat but taste is 100 times better :y
I'm afraid I disagree. I live in an area where lots of folk are on benefits, and they really can't afford anything other than what asda have to offer.

But if they spent just a fraction more for decent meat they wouldn't need as much ;)

And let's not go into the fact that many of them probably have the latest gadgets, full Sky subscription, go to the pub a few times a week and smoke 20 a day :-X ::)

Same here. :y Worth cutting down on other things if need be - fags/booze/junk food etc....
