ISO wiring question 1999 opel omega
« on: 12 February 2013, 18:26:11 »

Hi guys, ive been trying to connect my alpine head unit to my opel omega and so far im getting no power to it.  It currently has the standard philips tape player which works fine.  In the back of the iso block one of the black wires has been stripped abit and another black wire coming from somewhere else has been soldered onto it (I have a picture if someone can tell me how to upload it i will).

The head unit was working when I took it from my peugeot, but I haven't had a chance to test it in another car yet, so it could be broken, but that mystery wire is confusing me.

Does anyone know what wires do what in the iso block? Then i can make sure that they are corresponding correctly to the ones in my alpine loom.

I understand that its probably mostly vauxhauls on this site and mine is an opel originally from belgium, but I think il have more luck talking to you guys first!

Any help would be great, thanks a lot!

Vauxhalls (and Opels) tend to not entirely follow the ISO standard, with 12v and ign reversed

Multimeter is going to be essential for diagnosis
