Change of vehicle

Hi guys looking for inspiration :-\ unfortunately i am having to change my mig :'( having looked all over for an omega estate replacement and not being able to find one  >:( i am undecided as to what to get. It must be an estate for work i have looked at vectra elite 3.0 diesel 0r 3.2, jaguar x type estate either 2.5 0r 3.0 , bmw 5 series again 2.5 or 3.0 ? Any suggestions or advice on maintenance costs or what to look out for as regards to problems would be much appreciated  :-\ ;)

None of those will have the load space of the Omiga Estate mate - believe e series Merc Estates similar size of maybe big Volvos

Unfortunately Mike that has the same issue as most modern Estates - the roof line drops significanlt at the back, reducing/restricting usability of load area.  We looked at a number of Estates when we sold the old Elite Estate, and all showed this tendency - not a lot of use to us as we fit large dog cages into ours.  We found it easier to buy a later, low mileage Omega Estate.  Could well be a large van next ::) ::) ;)

Cheers guys I know they don't stack up boot wise although the vectra is close according to thier stats at 530 litres seats up but they are f/w/d as for the merc and Volvo I can't warm to them either why didn't Vauxhall carry on making the mig grrr >:(

Such as shame we cant buy newer omegas...Clearly still a market imho.

Keep its good points of RWD preferably, Load space, luxury / comfort and toys.
Improve looks to match current ranges and styles, and update the interior etc
Improve engine range to current more economical models, along with power for those who want it.

Job done.

From what I recall reading the X-Type Jag has a tendency to wear tyres out quite rapidly.Also if looking at one of the all wheel drive models[which I believe the 2.5 and 3.0 litre V6's were]they appear to have a weakness  with regard to the transfer box.

I replaced mine with a Jeep, we still have a Mig.... :y I have no idea what I would get next, I use my car for work and a Jag, BMW, Merc, Rangerover etc would not be appropriate, a little eurobox would be ok, I got away with the Omega as it is mostly quite 'anonymous' the Mondeo would be similar and the Citroen I had fitted perfectly....  :-\ :-\

Hi James nothing has happened to it mate ,thanks to all for the input but I have now decided to keep the mig and treat her to a birthday  ;) :y she has low mileage and seems the right thing to do  :D
