Glovebox?
« on: 21 March 2013, 16:05:19 »

Hi guys, daft question, but do I need to disconnect the battery and wait a bit to remove the glovebox?, as I don't like the look of those 3 bolts in the top of the glovebox that I need to remove.

Do those 3 bolts hold in the airbag unit or what?

Officially, yes. Reality, no. Just dont do anything that will cause it to fire (like bang/knock it hard)

(airbag. Obviously you can smash the glovebox to bits. Just give airbag an element of respect)

Thanks for the advice TB.

I remember taking the steering wheel airbag off my astra to get the clocks out, and I took the battery out and waited 3hrs because I didn't trust it, ive never shat my pants so much un-doing the 2 torx's behind the wheel, carefully taking it out, shat even more pulling out the plug and finding a safe place to store it. The worst thing was putting it all back and reconnecting the battery, and turning the key, I think I remember getting the ex missus to start the car afterwards   ;D ;D
