No
EP (extreme pressure) is for hypoid gears in rear axles. It is intended to be super slippery. If you stick it in a manual gearbox it binds to the syncromesh cones and they can't get a grip.

The symptoms are as you described, it won't go into gear because the syncromesh doesn't  ::)

I probably could have been a bit more helpful......

It wasn't the grade of oil that I was commenting on (75w90) it was the EP prefix that means that it has an additive that isn't compatible with syncromesh.

Plain 75w90 sounds about right but if you can get trade price from Evans Halshaw it makes sense to use GM oil.

The oil since 1999 is Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID SAE 75W-80 (other brands available, spec is API GL-5).  If the oil predates that (not in your case) or if the wrong stuff has been put in you need to flush it - fill to base of filler hole with said oil, drive 15 miles approx, drain, refill to 9mm below base of filler hole.  It is all a PITA, including just checking the level.

Probably 75W90 is OK but given the effort involved and that oils should not be mixed it might be worth getting the official one. Takes 1.2 litres.

If that doesn't help, are you sure your clutch isn't dragging - and also, before taking anything substantial apart - REVERSE bleed it! :y
