I have a very slow water loss half a pint a month maybe and also the heater is no longer hot .... V6 2.5 Elite...any ideas chaps??

Replace the HBV about 3-4 years ago ... suspect?

Or could it be a leaking matrix?

look at where the HBV is whilst someone plays round with the heater settings... it will, at some point, pish out if its the hbv

if you conclude its a blocked matrix.... there is an excellent guide (by jimbob i think) in the maintenance section re how to flush it

(i think hbv though if you have a water loss too)
