I don't know if this is possible pain wise, but have you tried having a good massage?  I used to get a 'frozen' neck when I was truck driving, brought on by sitting still for hours on end (dodgy posture) and it hurt like hell!!  :(  I used to go and sit in a sauna and then get massaged for an hour after and it sorted the problem!  :y  You have to do it regularly though at least once a week!  :)  If you decide to give it a go, choose your massage establishment very carefully to avoid upsetting Mrs Horsecow!!  ;D

As to your work offer, if you feel you can do it and it won't make the situation worse pain/mobility wise then give it a go!  The sense of well being from being out there working and earning a crust might help you more than you realise.  :y

All the best and let us know how you get on!  :)
