I cannot understand how politicians at EVERY level are so removed from reality and totally unconcerned at the publics opinion of their ilk.
Their piousness never ceases to astound me, asking us all to tighten our belts as there is no alternative way of getting out of the mess WE are all in but conducting themselves in a manner that is akin to pigs in " THEIR " trough.
Upon election at any level ,they immediatly adopt a belief of their own elevation into some God like status distancing themselves from the public who actually employ them.
You think it's bad in UK ? you should witness the Irish political animal.................

I noticed that in his postings, he seemed to live a 'confrontational' life. I hope he has not fallen foul to his actions

He had retired. He also told me that his health problems had been sorted. I suspect he just got bored with the ever lower level of debate and often sour atmosphere on OOF and went elswhere.

Well said , but i fear nothing will ever change . The trough has been opened up as a free for all for those in politics , if your not rich when you enter politics you certainly will be when you leave at the cost to the taxpayer and your voice shall count for nothing

The ones that make me really puke are the self-righteous ones from the left of politics, preaching the politics of envy, about people who have actually earned their riches through skill and hard work, that they are quite happy to steal from them through legalised robbery to enrich themselves. BLiar, McRuin, Balls-up, Cooper, Harman, Livingstone, the Millipedes and their ilk come to mind.
