hi all

as for the LPG, I could put up some pics to see if anyone thinks that the LPG pipes may have caused an extra problem, or would it be enough to say that DARTH LOO KNEE did the cam belt and water pump a couple of years back with no extra problems from them

thanks for all the replies and i'll let you know what the bill is like when it drops on the welcome mat   :-X

the bill came and it says:

strip down, remove undertray, turbo hoses, fan (can't read next word, looks like) coils & covers, partly drain cooling system and remove top hose for access. remove alternator & fit supplied replacement, fully assemble, start and check charge, replace battery and road test

2 & 1/2 hours labour at £110.40 with vat

and now the bargaining begins!!!

He's taking the proverbial or he's incompetent if he's taking 2 & half hours to fit an alternator. No idea why he needed to drain any coolant  ??? ???

.. and what was he doing anywhere near the fan?.. Sounds like it's someone else's bill, TBH, because that doesn't sound like a V6 Omega to me. >:(
