Drivers door locking problem
« on: 13 April 2013, 20:27:10 »

hi guys ,
had a friend call in today  with a drivers door lock problem.  53 plate 2.2CD

Central locking works on all 3 other doors but not drivers door .

Guy  uses fob  to operate C/L  & then opens rear door & lifts drivers door pin. door then opens fine.

To lock he reverses this by leaning in the rear door pushing drivers pin down, which locks all doors & then shuts rear door .

The drivers door lock will not budge with the key manually . . .  I know they are very tight to move sometimes but this will not budge even with long nosed pliers on the key blade . Any more force & I think key blade would snap.

Drivers door pin lifts manually up & down fine  & operates the C/L as it should

Any suggestions on how to approach this please ? :-\ :-\

It wouldn't do any harm to lubricate the linkage and lock mechanism. It probably won't fix the main fault but it may allow the door to be unlocked with the key and the replacement motor should be under less stress.

Worth a mention, the drivers motor is different from the other 3 because it controls the other 3 slaves...

It's not. The front two are the same as each other as are the two rears  ;) ;) ;)

(Senators/Carltons drivers door motors were different  ;) ;))
