Rog few years back I paid £350 for a vxl dealer to change the belt on a vectra few months down the line on the motorway the idler bearing went started off noisey and got slowly worse till a mile from my destination it seized so I drove for a mile with the belt running on a seized idler when I got to where I was going put foot on clutch and engine stopped lists of smoke from cam cover so got towed home and went to a local garage to change belt and idler the smoke was from the belt melting on the seized idler but didn't melt all the way though so I was lucky but in the end cost me another £350 so yes I know the importance of changing the belt and I've found. Friendly member on here who got the locking kit and has offered to help so will get a kit in a few weeks and have a go if it passes the mot today that is lol  :)

Vauxhall went through a phase where alot of dealers would literally only change the cambelt and not the tensioners :-\ yet we as the buying public can only buy the complete kit ::)

Alot of v6 Vectras suffered that fate :'(

I wish lol and the site I was given to look on earlier does the belt on its own but to me it's false economy unless belt has to be taken off for another reason I was lucky with that vectra the belt shredded on side an melted a half moon in it when i stopped the engine but didn't break and the pulley turned blue with the heat but it got me from mold to Rhyl with the bearings screaming its head off and only seized a mile from destination so I was very lucky

Belt has always been available on its own - but we know the tensioners fail before the belts
