Pleasant insurance surprise
« on: 27 May 2017, 12:22:42 »

Insured the Ovlov today, 40,000mikes p.a, fully comp, business use, £445 for the year. So cheaper than the omega  :y

I realise that will sound expensive to a lot of the coffin-dodgers out there, but for a young whipper-snapper such as myself, pretty good :).

Cant remember exactly how much I pay for insurance, but I know its a lot less than the VED. One of the few advantages of being old.

I pay £160 ish and £324.

I have never paid a lot for insurance because as a 'whippersnapper' I saw it as an optional extra.

Didn't we all ?  ;D
Afetr paying £636 for TPF&T in 1979, I felt like I was owed a few years worth. Especially when I arrived in England to find the very few policemen they did have, didn't even carry guns.  ::)
Also, not much point in insuring a motorbike when you don't have a licence, and taking a bike test to gain a full licence was seen as a sure sign of homosexuality, which was very much frowned upon at the time.  :D

And you could insist you were taxed and insured, they couldn't prove you weren't....or even if you was really you.  ;D
