ATF fluid
« on: 15 June 2013, 09:39:38 »

The last lot of Fuchs TITAN 4000 was 5L for £59 delivered. VX TC are offering Dex3 for £21 + Vat for 20L. GM seems the way to go, any thoughts? :-\

£42.95 here?

Sorry, don't know where the £21 came from - wishful thinking I suppose - even so 20L for less seems a no-brainer, but I just wondered what the experts think of the the GM Dex3. I'm going to get some today anyway, as it is supposedly in for life when new. :y :y :y

I'd have no issue putting GM in. The only one I'm not a big fan of is the Coma stuff, as definately doesn't seem to be as smooth. Currently got Coma in the Bullet, guessing the original GM in TBE

I've just picked up my 20L of Dexron111, £51.54 altogether. However, according to VX, the correct ATF oil for "other vehicles" (Omega not listed specifically) is Dexron 6. I am assuming that this is just an upgrade, and would mix OK, as I believe Dex 3 was the OE oil.  :-\ :-\ :-\

Vx quote various dex oils as backward compatible. Mostly because they no longer stock dex 3, so want to sell you what they have instead.

Dex 5 or 6 may well be fine, it may be an improvement. BUT, there is also a TIS service update along the lines of Dex 3 NOT being back comparable with Dex 2 for pas fluid, due to leaking pas pipes. Therefor Dex 3 is no longer recommended for Pas. It is Dex 2 only.

So, seems wise to me to stick with Dex 3 for ATF given the above. :y
