Yes but SAABs are FWD... as are all modern Volvos... putting power to the road through the front wheels is no fun!

Since the demise of the Granada, the Omega was the only real player unless you wanted to pay silly money for a Bimmer or a Merc (or a Jag)....

Now that the Omega has gone, I don't know what to buy - Holdens are too expensive, the Monaro is only too doors.

Cadillac STS or Chrysler 300C...?

Yep, BMW and Merc are in my opinion vastly overated especiually the 3 series. I might be in the minority but i really like the look of the 300c especially the estate.

As for value for money currently the old Omega would take some beating.

Have you driven a 300C? I took test drives in the 3L V6 Diesel touring & the 3.5 V6 petrol saloon. The 3.5 is a disgrace for an engine that size, I hate diesels - but have to admit the 3.0 oil burner was better than the bigger petrol engine. Unfortunately the big V8s were not available, but if you want some horse power that'll be the one to go for!

The main 2 things I said to the salesman were, a/ I'd beat him in my meega in either of those cars, (& I'd put money on it!) & b/ It proves to there's nothing there to make me want to change my nearly 6 year old meega for!

ATB, John  ;)

Well there goes the 300c then... which leaves us with CTS, the car with engine we all know and love:

Shame about the shape though, I much prefer how the Chrysler looks.
