Auto box reluctant to engage
« on: 08 July 2013, 09:17:57 »

When my 02 2.6 Elite has been sat on the drive for a couple of days, it starts fine, put it into drive to move off but the gearbox doesn't appear to engage until I gently rev the engine. I am looking to do a fluid and filter change next month, in the meantime anyone have any suggestions? Once it engages the box operates fine, no thumping and no warning symbol on the dash.

Make sure the car is jacked up and level AND the engine is running to get a true reading  ;) ;)

When changing fluid, get a large drain bowl, old 20L drum with side cut out.as for filters just wash out in paraffin, and gaskets from jpat, mention oof to get discount.
