VOF 93 Oil Filters
« on: 18 July 2013, 19:38:45 »

Hi all, the 93156954 VOF 93 oil filter, I was told some inside information that VX have stopped production of these.  They now want you to buy a long life filter that is twice the price. Time to stock up from your local dealer?

Believe that particular filter is used on other GM makes incl Opel,Saab, Holden, Pontiac, Chevrolet, Buick, as well as Lada, Daewoo, Isuzu, Rover, Toyota, Nissan and Mazda, and a large range of Vx models.  Unlikely that filter will be unavailable for some considerable time, particularly as plenty of filter manufacturers (Fram, Mahle etc) can currently supply an equivalent

Main advantage of the GM one is price (on TC)

93156954 or X93 as it was has now changed number to 95509857 and there are 180936 in stock across Europe so should be OK for a day or so.

This part number has slowed down alot these days, for example we used to order these at a thousand a time, every six weeks or so but now a box of twenty will last us a couple of months.

The new common filter is now 93185674

Don't suppose Sammy turned up anywhere, did he?

Guessing, as a projectile, he'd be hard to miss. ;)

Still, on the positive side, the metal bit will be well tempered. :y
