Well a shagged one takes a bit of fettling , ask symes and martin about replacement stem seals  :-X ;D ;D ;D ;D
just like mine did in the end . you can only spend so much money on an old car :y

Nothing wrong with your stem seals?

Small, regular, cheap maintenance can keep an old car going forever, only rust can kill it.

Well it would of helped if my stem seals were seated  ;D Im surprised it never used more oil than it did , mind you whoever was following me would have been in a smoke screen  ::) All fixed now thanks to the boyz  :y

how do you know . only thing that i didn't look at because i was going away and didn't have the time  :( :(

Sad day today, have just received the destruction certificate back for my N reg 2.0l.
Had served me very well for over six years but too many emission issues recently to
make it viable for me to spend even more dosh this year.  :'('(Never mind my new Desmond
is going great- so far. :y

how do you know . only thing that i didn't look at because i was going away and didn't have the time  :( :(

Because straight after you did the cam cover, the issues started.  ::)

2.2's weakness is head gasket and wear on pot1, if you had taken help offered, instead of ignoring it you may still have it  :)

would have taken to long to fix . as i said was going away 4 days later with the van . so it was no time to fix . i am happy with my new car anyway . and i think it was time to change  :y

Strange why that is though  :( My old head gasket was just starting to fail also , cant remember if it was near pot one  :-\
