Mrs V and myself were talking about the Russian goings on.
It seems that the top man Putinn~ (can't put his real name as there are a lot of Ruskies in Spain) has got a real thing against Gays. Despite his hard man appearance and hard line could it be he is gay himself? Methinks he doth protest too much!
This is Putin's alleged mistress, who looks very feminine to me.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1338455/Putins-mistress-Alina-Kabayeva-Russian-Vogues-debut-cover-girl.htmlThe Russian / Ukrainian view of the world is very different from the decadent west, more like the UK in the 1950's and the very early 1960's, so you have to judge things from that viewpoint. Men are expected to act like men and women like women, the opposite to Western Europe where women are meant to be laddetts and men are meant to show their feminine side, well according to feminists anyway. Call me old fashioned, but I personally prefer the Eastern European outlook and their societies values. When my wife was expecting our first baby and I took her for a scan at the local hospital in the Ukraine I sat along with the rest of the fathers to be in the waiting room, while she had her scan as this is classed as womens stuff, so the men wait outside, again very reminiscent of a past era in Britain.
Russian and Ukrainian women are equal in their societies, where it is normal for women to have careers with breaks for giving birth to children and staying at home for 6 months before they return to work and they are employed in vast numbers in many professions like science and engineering, where at the same time dressing and showing their femininity. Their society seems to me to be far more relaxed and cohesive than ours.
Putin, likes to be portrayed as a hard man of action as it boosts his popularity and as an ex-KGB officer and black belt in judo, he can back this up.
