Still a bit of Mayo?
« on: 29 August 2013, 09:15:51 »

As you are all aware  ::) we done the HG on goldie the other week,I cleaned the head best I could.
Just checked and there is still a trace of mayo on the dip stick and filler cap :-\ Is this normal?

I intend to run her for a couple hundred miles and then change the oil and filter again, am I right in thinking this will clear the cream? :-\

PS Thankyou to omegod for the strut clips, all sorted :y

If you had a lot of mayo before the CHG change then I wouldn't be surprised to find a little still in there.

Provided it's not still consuming coolant then I'd take it for a decent run (an hour or so) and see how it is after that - getting the oil nice and warm should clear up any lingering mayo.

I would certainly change the oil again after a few hundred miles - for the cost of a tub of oil, it's not worth taking any chances.

If you Elite an MV6, does that make it an MVee-leet?

Cheers, the coolant levels are all ok and temp is where I would expect it to be :y
Plan to do 2 oil + filter changes within 600 miles and then put in good stuff,I am reckoning that should give her a good clean out :-\
Trouble is now, unless the doctors let me back driving again next month,I will have to get rid :'(
Done all the work and now I have to get my mate to chauffeur me around :-[ just itching to get behind the wheel 8),not a very good passenger when the car is mine >:(
