Secondary air injection . . .
« on: 30 August 2013, 09:20:11 »

Just a quick update.
New exhaust fitted and second hand cats courtesy of tigers gonads and car is back to normal.  :y

Secondary air injection system fine now because all the exhaust is going out the back!  :y

The passenger side cat must have been completely blocked as the car still would not run properly even with the remaining exhaust system disconnected!  :o

So, just a tip, if the little hoses on the secondary air injection start blowing, then your exhaust is blocked. Bloody marvellous!  :(

Yep, a well known symptom  :y

And the reasons the cats block?

A few are headgasket failure (coolant kills the cats and O2 sensors), missfire not attended to, impact damage.....but to name a few of the more common route causes

Hi,
17 to the gallon my friend, that's why. No chance of saving up for a gas conversion either. Its time for economy.  :o
Oh, and 3.0 exhaust pipes are bigger than 2.5's.  . . . . ???
