icv gasket

Hi all,can you buy an icv gasket seperatley.Or do you have to buy the whole thing,if so does anyone have a part number.Its a 1995 3ltr eleit,as a new icv is a few bob :(.TIA dean :y

Hi dbug,i am not realy sure.Is there a gaskget that goes inbetween the icv and engine(where it bolts to)if you know what i mean. :-\

It doesn't bolt to the plenum, sits in a large rubber collar that fits into side of plenum and a larger collar that is attached to side of plenum.  Only seal is the rubber collar ;)

Thanks dbug,so can the rubber collar leak.Or let in air,as i have an intermittant cutting out when cold. :) :y Dean

Spray some carb cleaner around it when its running. if theres an air leak it will be sucked in and will be most audible  :y

in fact moggy, if youre trying to track down a vacuum leak do this around all of the intake :)

Dbug and webby thanks for the info,when i looked at the maintanance guide.It said it was bolted,so are the icvs different on 2.0 3.0 engines.Dean :y

wouldn't worry about it until i'd confirmed there was a leak :) if you don't have carb cleaner use soap and water in a spray bottle  :y if no hissing its sealed fine

Thanks mate,will do it in the morning.If i hear hissing i will ask on our great forum,as to the fix.Cheers Dean :) :y PS I have carb cleaner :y

Before oiling it best to clean it - use card cleaner, then, as said, a couple of drops of 3 in 1 :y

Yep the rubber collar can leak if knackered or not fitted correctly ;)
