Filter should have come with a new one :-\

Either way, don't be tempted to tighten it even as a stop gap :y

You don't need to drain oil to fix that :)

I know .......... the spin on has a seal embedded into the filter - no O ring involved.  ;) ;) ;)

Check the filter is tight. If OK the seal might have been nicked during tightening. If it's damaged you might be able to re-use the one off the old filter. ;)

2nd time I changed mine I greased the O-ring because I really didn't want the cap to seize in place.

After 2 days it started leaking  >:( so I took the cap off, cleaned away the grease and put the old seal back on with a smear of oil this time. That fixed it :y

Yup fit the correct type of filter  :y :y the spin on type  ;D ;D

And with all the R & D available to GM they still can't design an oil filter.

Just refit as it was intended & it'll be right!
