Brewing up ???
« on: 27 October 2013, 20:32:37 »

120 mile trip yesterday, the old girl kept on overheating. Delivered package, checked water level, which was low, slowly opened cap, ENORMOUS overflow. Topped up again after letting it settle. Started out on trip home 90 miles. Sat at 60 - 65mph all the way, coolant level warning came on a couple of times, but temp was only a tad over 80. Got home safely. Checked this morning and reservoir was down by about a litre?? Water in rad clear and no smell. Oil clear, no mayo on cap. ???? Airlock??

Under-steer is when the front of the car hits the wall, and over-steer is when the rear of the car hits the wall.
Power is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how much of the wall you take with you.

yep, keep filling and bleeding. I squeeze the hell out of the radiator hoses (cap off) until you can "feel" water in the system (if that makes seance)

Did wonder about thermostat? Had one fitted last year, but suspected recently it has decided to partially retire??  :-\ Reason? Standing in traffic temp will hit just above 90. then fans cut in, on a journey it sits just above or below 80? On last leg of journey last night, temp was just above 80, put heater on hot max, temp dropped to just under 80?
