normal running temp/ fan operational temp.
« on: 27 October 2013, 15:11:03 »

Hi, just wondered whats the normal running temp of a 2.0i , and at what point does the fan /should the fan switch on at?? and is there away to test if fan is operational?.  Have done around 5,000 miles in last 10 wks, and she runs around 91-93* -and rises to 96-7 in standing traffic - but never heard fan switch on..  ;)

This is right, sounds like normal operation to me, at this temp (96/97) the fan will kick in  :y

V6's have a pair of fans and appear to me anyway, significantly louder than 4pots which only have one.

There's a fan test which requires jumping various connectors in the engine bay fuse box. Have a search through the site for fan test.

Yours is correct. Tunnie meant that there are two cooling fans PLUS one for the a/c ie 2 in front the rad & one behind  :y
