Neighbour "borrowed" some oil today.
« on: 28 November 2013, 16:58:09 »

When of my Spanish farmer neighbours turned up today. I had heard him and his mate hitting something on their spraying rig.

He speaks very broad Andalucian Spanish which has some vague similarities to real Spanish.

I need some oil. What is the problem?          Anyway I half guessed it was a seized nut from the usual poor or none existent maintenance regime. Will this do said I producing a tin of WD40.? No need a lot more. Have you got any engine oil? At this point I had visions of it being a stuck recessed nut and they wanted to fill the hole.

Will this do? I pointed at my 5 gallon plastic container half full of USED diesel engine oil. No lid and a manky old dirty funnel. I explained it was used engine oil. Perfect he said.

Off we went and I said hello to his mate.

Off came the dipstick filler to the Power take off gearbox on the spraying rig and quick as a flash he was pouring in the used oil using the funnel. About three litres worth as it was empty.

I wonder how long it will last ;D ;D :o :o

I'm sure there must be an EU grant when he needs to replace it.  ::) ::) ::)

I expect he thought it was practically brand new and thinks English people are nuts to keep buying and changing oil!  ;D
